January 2021

Scripture for the Month

Psalm 96: 1-3
At the dawn of the new year I'm filled with hope for what is to come, and I have thankfulness in my heart for what has already passed. I pray that I will keep my focus where it needs to be this year and that we'll all have a year filled with joy, love and happiness.

Hymn of the Month

"This Is My Father's World"

1 This is my Father's world, And to my listening ears
All nature sings, and round me rings The music of the spheres.  This is my Father's world: I rest me in the thought
Of rocks and trees, of skies and seas-- His hand the wonders wrought.

2 This is my Father's world: The birds their carols raise,
The morning light, the lily white, Declare their Maker's praise. This is my Father's world: He shines in all that's fair;
In the rustling grass I hear Him pass, He speaks to me everywhere.

3 This is my Father's world: O let me ne'er forget
That though the wrong seems oft so strong, God is the Ruler yet. This is my Father's world: Why should my heart be sad? The Lord is King: let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let earth be glad!

Message for the coming New Year
From Rev. Nancy Hazzard

I TRUST SPIRIT

Today I let go of the need to know beyond this moment because I trust in the everlasting power of Spirit to show me the way.

Every morning Spirit goes before me to clear the path for me to travel and reach my destination with ease.  During the day Spirit whispers in my ear words of encouragement and hope for me to move forward. At night Spirit’s love like an intricately stitched quilt keeps me warm and safe.

I am learning to embrace uncertainty and discomfort in the outer world for they are catalysts for me to rise up, step out and grow into a grander version of myself than I ever imagined.

The time is ripe for my transformation, to fully understand and grasp what if means to be a child of the Most-High.  It is time for me to accept that I was created by divine design not default.  It is time for me to know that I am destined to fully express my highest spiritual potential.  I trust Spirit to lead, always guide and direct me in all situations – and Spirit fulfills my expectations.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight… (the Lord) will make straight your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-6
