Scripture for the Month

A Prayer of Thanks - Psalm 123

1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. 4 Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

Hymn of the Month

"Peace Be Still”

1. Master, the tempest is raging
The billows are tossing high
The sky is o'er shadowed with blackness
No shelter or help is nigh

Carest Thou not that we perish?
How canst Thou lie asleep
When each moment so madly is threatening
A grave in the angry deep?

"The winds and the waves shall obey my will, peace be still. Whether the wrath of the storm-tossed sea
Or demons or men or whatever it be
No water can swallow the ship where lies

The Master of ocean and earth and skies
They shall sweetly obey my will
Peace be still, peace be still
They all shall sweetly obey my will, peace, peace be still"

Inspirational Messages
From Rev. Nancy Hazzard

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice, and let them say among the nations, "The Lord is king!" —
1 Chronicles 16:31

When I think of the vastness of the earth and the diversity of those who inhabit it, I am in awe. It is such a blessing to live in this diverse world and explore countries, peoples, customs, and cultures.

I am a citizen of the world with the privilege to treat the planet and its people with respect. I encourage peace, beginning in my neighborhood and expanding to include my community, country, continent, and the entire world.

Each person can make a difference.

As I hold peaceful thoughts and act peacefully, I am an example of honor and inclusion. My example has a ripple effect upon every person with whom I come in contact. I respect all cultures and ideas and promote peace and understanding.
